Janmanrega is a multilingual citizen centric mobile app developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC), Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with NIC, Ministry of Rural Development and National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC, Hyderabad). The application is valuable for stakeholders at various levels of MGNREGA. The key modules of the application are as follows:
- Attendance: Workers can check their job card details and work attendance and that has been recorded for their musters of the current and last financial year by entering the job-card number.
- Payment: Workers can check all payments that have been received/rejected and status of pending payments for musters of the current and last financial year.
- Locating assets: Area Officers/CBOs can locate details of assets based on their live Global Positioning System (GPS) location.
- Feedback on asset: Citizens can provide feedback on assets (completed works) within the radius of 20 meters of the geotagged location of the asset.
- Grievance redressal: Workers can raise concerns related to work allocation, work demand, payment, etc. The app automatically forwards user-raised issues to the concerned officials at the block, district, and state levels for resolution.
- Information: To read about the scheme, video tutorials, entitlements of beneficiaries, assets that can be created.
The app is available in Hindi, English, as well as 10 regional languages (Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu) via both translation and text to speech features.

- Location: The app uses device location to show the nearby assets w.r.t. user location.
Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information: The app captures users Mobile Number, Name and Location. The Department retains the user provided data.
Misuse by Non-Targeted Users:Mobile App is meant for use by the targeted audience only. Misuse by non-targeted users should be prevented by owner of the mobile device.
